Mission Statement
In the spirit of service, not self, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who served by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military and their families, both at home and abroad. For God and Country, we advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace and security.
Membership Eligibility
American Legion Auxiliary membership is open to grandparents, parents, siblings, spouses, and direct or adopted descendants within two degrees of consanguinity of members of The American Legion.
Eligibility also extends to those same family members of qualifying servicemembers who served from April 6, 1917, through November 11, 1918, or at any time after December 7, 1941, and who died in the line of duty or after an honorable discharge. Women who qualify for membership in The American Legion in their own right are also eligible to join the Auxiliary.
The updated rules also allow eligible individuals to belong to both the Sons of The American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary.
If interested, please complete the application form on the Membership page, or visit us at American Legion Post 294 in Powder Springs, GA.
